comment 1: WHY O' WHY does everything always have to be about headline dj's........there are lots of mint dj's out there that arent headline, but some narrowminded people (NOT MARK!!!) wont give them the time of day because they are unheard of.......i think this is wrong. some of the best night i have EVER had have revolved around new UNSIGNED (so to speak) dj's.......just my opinion of course comment 2: why techno and house in the back room, why not live dangerously and veer away from the "norm", why not have something a little different or even have the back room as a NOVICE room......NOT people who CANT dj for shite but more just those who play good music and cant share it with those willing to listen.................THE JOHN PEEL ROOM!!!! THE NORTH EAST OWES IT TO HIM, GIVE SOMETHING BACK!!!!
I understand that but I know that if it did 're-open' I'd be back there in a flash. It wouldn't really piss me off that a stunt had been pulled like that apart from me thinking it was a really sly move to make becasue i was a regular customer anyway and I had an amazing night but i can see why other people might have been pissed off. Who cares though as I'm 99% sure that we've seen the end of Promise.
It was deffinatly the last one... but if the next two events are as successful as the last i night i wouldnt be surprised if mark ressurected it.
I think it's def the end of promise 'as we know it' or in it's current form... relaunching it would require some careful thought. I think new talent would be the only way to go if mark re-launched it... why not try getting the best and up and coming djs? Not only will it cost less in terms of booking but it's a breath of fresh air for the scene getting some new talent on. Granted, it's a riskier approach, but it's gotta be better than booking a name you've had on several times before in the same year (unless there's a huge demand to have a certain DJ back.) Joe - nice to meet you on sat btw
Facts are... At the time Promise had no further nights booked out in Foundation. I still have had no listings, artwork etc for any events other than the gods and nyd events. If there is another Promise at Foundation or anywhere else it's because mark/rich have managed to get a venue etc together and I for one will be pleased (especially if it gives Richard a chance to play). This wasn’t a con to get people to come down, it would of been almost as busy as that anyway, it's only message board peeps + their friends that actually knew it was the last one anyway. WORD.
Ive noticed the only posts youve been making are smilies or pasted from a news website or something...tookie if your keyboard is broke with windows XP theres an option for an on screen one u use with the mouse
This is true.It was announced on the Monday and wasnt on any flyers so it was only word of mouth that it was the last one. There was a few people i was talking to who in there didnt know and one didnt believe me lol
