But we as consumers & nation should do nationalism.

Walking down Stowell St you see what cars most of the people drive, Toyota,Honda etc THESE PEOPLE REMEMBER THERE ROOTS!!!!!
The Yanks got miffed with France, nothing like an 80% import tax on French wine to slow down the demand.
America does not let any other nation build it ships, we nearly gave a French a company a major Royal Navy shipbuilding contract it was only Frances attitude about the gulf war that we give the work to BRITISH companies.
America wants to get rid of some ships full of asbestos, the US government know this is a DANGEROUS JOB FOR AMERICAN CITIZENS THE WORK IS GOOD ENOUGH FOR A YARD IN HARTLEPOOL
Air France has whinged about BRITISH FIRMS flying people into France very cheaply. The French government is now looking into stoping local French governments giving subsidies to these BRITISH FIRMS.

Its about time we did nationalism, the centre & left of this country needs to seize our flags back from the right & make them something to be proud.

When I learn to drive I will be in ROVER because its a British company.

LEAVE EAGLE STAR & THE HSBC USE PIKE AS EXAMPLE HE LEFT BARCLAYS.

It will not give people motivation & WE DONT NEED ANYMORE PEOPLE GOING ON COMPUTER COURSE'S OR DOING BUSINESS STUDIES!!!!!!!
You need places that employ masses of unskilled people.

I dont bank with HSBC anymore but still have a loan with them, I wouldnt bother getting one of someone else cos its almost paid off now. I have to ring them when I have problems with it (every month). They never have a clue what Im talking about and always say they'll transfer me to my branch when its the loan dept I need. I tell them this repeatedly and they still transfer me to my branch, who then have to transfer me to the right people.

I bank with Barclays now and I always get through to someone in the north east. The customer services number I have is a local number :D

I dont have insurance with Eagle Star. I used to work there. The only reason they opened a call centre in India was so they could go 24 hour. None of the staff over here were prepared to work nights for not much more money so they got cheap labour instead

America broke trade laws a while back with the Steel Levvy - Adding 30% onto the price of imported steel to essentially stop any other countries being competitive - Good old George W.

The UK doesnt have a clue when it comes to protecting its own interests... I believe in fair trade as much as the next man, but fair trade isnt fair when other countries have an entirely different tax/labour structure as ours.... Walk down a supermarket isle and you'll find chicken breasts coming from the Netherlands, Milk from here, there and everywhere... etc etc.. All while our farming industry is being run into the ground.

There needs to be something done about moving call centres to India... On one hand its good for India getting money pumped into it... but its also A) Exploitative and B) Yes, it takes money out of our country.

Agree'd - We have the most horrendous worth ethic in this country.... Lack of social responsibility, the breakdown of the family unit... and the welfare state are to blame IMHO

You would have 1 of the Rover/BMWs the new 1's are BRITISH MADE BY A BRITISH COMPANY.

We will never have people with a hunger for work like poorer nations but I think we have better work ethic than the latin countries in Europe.

yup come the end of 2004 Lloyds TSB, which prides itself on the black horse symbol of repuable british banking, are moving my job to india, bangalore to be precise. This is basically because it costs the bank around £2000 to train us to do our job, and for £1800 they can pay an indian to do the job for a year. We are in uproar at work, but aparantly its ok for the bank to do that, as the salary they get is all in relation to the local economy, so its not as if the call centre is a sweat shops of the new milennium.
i mean when Lloyds first set up a call centre a few years ago, customers HATED us, they wanted to speak to thier branch. can you honestly imagine if you phone your bank and get through to the other side of the world? nevermind somewhere else in the country. They can speak english, but can you imagine if someone phones up and says "alright mate, i wanna see 'ow much me bank is in the red". what fucking indian will understand that unless they have extensive knowledge of english history and dialect??? it just makes me sooooooooooooo angry coz im totally mint at me job, and by the end of next year looking at a team leader position, but now i can hardly put on my CV "i was nearly a team leader once" how shit does that sound!!! grrrrrrrrrr:bang: :cry2: :fuming:

Barclays have some of the most unethical investment ploicies imaginable.... South African mines before the end of arpetheid for example.

Amy, would you bank with them whatever their investments are like as long as you don't get an indian when you phone up???

er no!! fuck that shit... I'm about as nationalistic as I am religious :D

nationalism causes more problems than just about anything else.... just look at former Yugoslavia

Internationalism is where it's at these days if you really want to start solving problems :D

I see no harm in being proud of where your from...

I'm very proud of being british and see no harm in this, when I talk about the north east I talk with a degree of pride, when I talk about england I talk with pride... this however doesn't mean I should cut myself off from the rest of the world.

Si internationalism, causes massive problems - as we don't live in an ideal work globalisation merely means easier ways of exploiting the weak.

A typical answer from someone who has let the far right steal our flag.

I am saying BACK BRITAIN.Is it to much to ask when it comes to buying something & the price is the same go with the British 1.

But then we have saw how this board treats British DJs.British DJs play random tunes, while Dutch Van German & co play sets covering many genres.

Your not the problem, just part of it & its not just Halliwell that gets the random thing other British Djs do.
