Aye deffo. Im still puzzled how Berbatov can hold talks with Man Utd, have a medical and now it seems pass it yet they havent even put a bid in? Only Man City were the ones who bid and had it accepted? Rules rubber again are they?
Unless your Man Utd or Chelsea fan you would love your club to be doing what Man City are doing right now.
I really wonder how much Mark Hughes has to do with any of this. It seems to me like the new board have came in and wanted to issue a statement of intent so went in for every top forward likely to be available. When they were bidding yesterday afternoon for Berbatov Hughes was pictured playing golf on SSN, and didnt seem to bothered about the whole situation I can truly say that I wouldnt really want Sunderland doing what Man City have done, ive got little faith in most foreign consortiums who come over here looking for a new toy to play with in the Premier league. Ask fans of Liverpool, West Ham, Man City under Thaksin as they have all initially came out and spent stupid money though there comes a time when they expect a return on their investment, and when they realise that Man City are not a top 4 club and signing the likes of Robinho isnt enough to bridge the gap then that time could come sooner than we think.
What we need is a transfer limit of say 50 million quid per transfer window to stop football turning into a rich mans playground.
Its crazy like Apparently at one point on deadline day, Man City had tabled bids on over £300m in total
read today that he offered a blank cheque to real madrid for van nistelrooy. god knows how much truth is in that but its fucking insane, spoiling our great game if you ask me!
The city situation is total madness!! just to think i was questioning Hughes and how he would feel about his decision to leave blackburn when all the Thaksin trouble started and now he's a manager with a blank cheque. At the end of the season we'll see how things pan out because Chelsea were in a desperate situation, then roman took over and the rest is history.....but Claudio who did ok in his 1st season didn't survive and Jose was brought in. Will Hughes fit the bill in terms of him being the big name manager for this new man city superstar team the chairman is looking for? I think Hughes will do a good job but with these flash new owners who come in throwing money about (or not throwing money about in newcastles case!!) sometimes it isn't enough.
Aye least Robinho knew who he was signing for http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/m/man_city/7597822.stm I can see him loving the winters in Manchester as well, even if they sign his fat mate from Brazil with two dodgy knees to keep him company. I dont personally think Robinho is worth anywhere near what they paid but will be a v.interesting season cos the pressure on Hughes now is going to be madness.
I cant see Hughes lasting, they will probably headhunt a bigger name who has experience with spending big bucks. Will be interesting in the january transfer window they will have thier eyes taken out and club with any sense will double the asking price for thier players once they hear City are interested, similar thing happened with Chelsea.
Possibly signing Ronaldo now (the lady boy lover, not the lady boy) He's always been a bit of a porker, but he's a right fat cunt now
