I'm sure there is no one there 24hrs a day, I don't know when they have cleaners in etc. Frankly, I dno't really care. There were no details as to when the incedent occurred, I was working under the presumption that it occurred when there was no one in the building. If it were a minor fire (rubbish bin abalze etc) and there were members on staff on hand, I would assume that at least one of them would have been trained in fire & incident control proceedures and could have either dealt with it.

Smoke damage could also necessitate a re-fit.

It certainally was not a thoughtless thing to say. If I'd have said "Hope the place burned down right in the middle of Shindig" or something like that then yes, that isn't just thoughtless, it's totally disgusting!

I'll leave it at that, but, in future, don't criticise people before you really understand the point they are trying to put across.
