It's been cast aside by many Techno come minimal DJs in the past couple of years.

Personally i think Above & Beyond should have got it.
I cannot see how trance is on the decline, i bet the majority of the top 10 play trance. And when there are so many mint producers and djs knocking around from all over the world.

said djs also have very active management companies who spam the living shit out of everywhich site theycan.

djs like carl cox, sasha and digweed dont spam the shit out of sites, and their constant appearances in the top 10 is more important that the fact a trance dj wins every year.

I have to agree that there are spammers/marketing methods from promoters/DJ's that will target places like, Myspace, forums, Bebo, email addy's & the likes.

But you honestly think someone in there right mind is going to vote for a DJ because they have received 10 emails from a promoter asking them to vote? In my eyes it's a reminder, sometimes annoying but never enought to sway my vote?

All having releases on it, in the end giving Armin even more exposure. Do you honestly belive a trance DJ has won it 5 years in a row due to marketing methods brain washing clubbers via spam?

Part of the reason I voted for him was because of that reason, the other part because up until the past month I've enjoyed his radio show week in week out.

    Completely agree.

I'm not dismissing minimal or anything, I just find it embarassing that DJs would so quickly and obviously jump ship and follow trends, as many prog, techno, house, trance etc DJs have over the years have done, as a new genre comes along.

Some of them will soon jump ship once minimal has had it's run.
