It was a fucking joke this whole campaign, everything I hate about politics in the UK. Bullshit throughout the campaign (particularly the No campaign) and people putting the interests of their own parties first rather than what is good for the voting public and politics in the UK.

I still fail to understand now the argument for voting No, other than for the likes of the Tories simply because the AV would be detrimental to the party in future elections. I heard Cameron last night trying to convince people that the AV would give Tory voters less votes than everyone else, WTF?!!! Absolute bullshit.

We are the last country in the EU to move on from FPTP and the sad thing is that it isnt likely to change anytime soon going from the results on Thursday!!

Totally different mate. The AV voting system is all about giving more power to the voters and allowing people who support smaller parties to vote for their preferred parties as first choice as well as being able to select who their 2nd and 3rd choices etc would be.

The FPTP system now means that for a lot of people who support these parties their votes would be wasted as the party doesnt have a chance of getting into power, so instead they vote tactically by voting for a party who actually have a chance of winning (or have a chance of keeping a party they dont want in out of power) whereas in the AV system you have more freedom to vote for the parties you want to elect in which order.

Its also worth noting that we arent just the last country in the EU to have this, we are one of the last of the developed countries in the world!

if you want to know who would have benefited from AV and who would not - look who supported it and who didn't. As usual fear and apathy scuttled any chance of change in this joke 'democracy'
If you have half a brain and a spare 50 mins watch this. It is the best summing up of recent political history I have seen. You don't need conspiracies and the illuminati
