Yoji Biomehanika Been a fan of his for yonks - but only cos I'd heard mp3 mixes, they never blew me a way just impressed me - saw him for my first time at mainframe and OMG! Possibly the best set I've ever heard in my life - if promise could book him it would be amazing - I know this is a challenge as he only had 2 UK gigs this year. He's the hardest trance dj I have ever heard - it was harder than most hard house sets I've heard yet still was dead euphoric at times - the guy is a genius! BOOK HIM!!!!
I agree! Saw him for the first time at Mainframe and was completely blown away. Probably the best DJ I have ever seen. Not entirely sure he would go down well at Promise though - I would call what he played Nu NRG rather than hard trance.
Why wouldn't he suit promise? He had an unbelievable dark and underground and (at least in my eyes) trancey feel to his set... true he's harder than anyone promise have ever booked... but hard dj's go down a treat in promise, picotto, halliwell, tissera.... some pull crowds some don't - but they all go down well on the night. I think due to Yoji's exclusiveness if he was booked he'd pull crowds from further afield like picotto did (but I don't think as many).... my main reason for going to mainframe was to catch yoji - he aint that big a dj in the UK but he's certainly known and respected... He could do for promise what pvd did for crasher A boy can dream anyways
i back you on that idea joe!!! ive purchased two of yoji's tunes...one of which the joint effort with Scot Project in Ding a Ling, but the previous one ive got in my record box is called "anastacia" - which is hard as nails - like an up to date rework of an old skool rave tune but cant remember what it is?? can anyone help me out here!! its the dark sampled riff and synth which builds up after the break coming in quietly... im trying to remember the tune this was sampled from!!! HELP!!
I just thought he may be a bit hard for Promise. Personally I would love to see him there as I think he is probably the best DJ I have ever seen. For another Yoji tune check out his remix of Chris C - Freefall on Mohawk. I am trying to get hold of one of his mix CDs, but can't find it on any of the music sites. Think I will have to contact my stepbrother in Japan!
tis a tune!!! heres an AG link for one of his sets, tis well good!! http://www.audiogalaxy.com/list/song.php?&g=158295756 hope hes in London soon!!!
I very much doubt it - his 2 bookings for the UK this year were: labratory (or whatever that lab4 night was) mainframe I saw him! If he dont' get booked again I'm contemplating going to see him on the contenant - he was amazing
I would travel far and wide to see this man! Kerry thought she had something through from Frantic that said he was playing there on 13 July, but can't find where she put it! I've checked Yoji's website which doesn't list it, though it hasn't been updated since March. I will let you know if I find anything out, as I will definitely be making the trip to London if he is on.
From all joe's plugging I'm dying to c this lil guy! Was gutted I had to miss Mainframe!!! *sob* I would be a very happy bunny if he played promise!!!
Well he aint, coz i sent him an email sayin he had to play in London, so all u peeps have to come here, n see me to see him!! n he said ok!!
Fantastiko!!! This suits me even better! Well I'll be moving down ur way (if all goes to plan) at the end of the year...I expect him to be playing a set 2 welcome me to my new home! (sorry promise people...but it can force u 2 visit me & the dawg! *good thinking Mr dog!* )
CHRIST WHERE DID U APPEAR FROM??? and yes i feel that its a very good plan (Im always one step ahead!!), and I ve just sorted a nice lil job for this year...in Covent Garden!!
