there seems to be a fair few of these going round on msn, as .pif files generally but i've seen a couple of .scr files too

unless the person is sending you a weblink that ends it .html .mp3 .mpg or stuff you know what it does and cannot execute, don't accept it

if you are using xp this kinda screen should pop up if you do click on it and if either of these things are displayed, press cancel :)

It seems to have buggered my computer up a bit.

I got it sent from Johnty, being daft i clicked on it. The computer then went nuts and sent it to all 18 people that were currently online on my msn. Quickly sent a 'dont open it' message to each person. Think i got to everyone in time and nobody opened it. Most of them were bright enough to work it out for themselves. Screech, Rossy and Nass had already replied 'vin u have a virus' before i even got to them! Geeks! ;)

Anyway it seems to have done the following to my computer.

    - Internet connection is very tempremental, and it wont connect again unless i restart the comp.

    - Internet Explorer sometimes 'encouters a problem and has to close'.

    - Some internet pages just wont load up.

    - On this board, when i click any smilie, instead of putting it on my post, it just scrolls to the top of the screen and doesnt put the smilie on. Also when making a post, it doesnt load the page itself, and i have to click the screen to get it to refresh.

   @ the sad little gimps that sit in their bedrooms all day and night making viruses. Get a fucking life! They are probably like Darude would be if he had a brain! I respect muggers and car theifs more than these pathetic beings.

ps Anyone know how to sort my computer out?

    Missed this one out.

It also says on the bar at the top of Internet Explorer, "Your security settings do not allow Web sites to use ActiveX controls on your computer. This page may not display correctly."

    http://housecall.trendmicro.com, if it'll work.

Vin - why won't your anti-virus software get rid of it?

If you're having real issues, there's progs out there that create bootable floppies/cds with DOS-based av software, although the definitions will most likely be out of date. I've got a rescue cd at home that I could burn off if you're really fucked.

    :monkey:  :p

No point subscribing when you can get free and legal av programs... (esp when pc-cillin is about the only subscription-based av prog I rate) :)

Recommend me a good free one please to

    a) get rid of it

    and

    b) prevent future viruses

The subscription was free with the computer for a year, but its ran out now. Was Norton.

Will that housecall get rid of it Dodge?
