the ring???

has anyone here saw the japenese version of the ring??
just wanna know if its worth staying up for 2night and what its like.
havent saw the american one yet and dont quite know what to expect!

Although it does have one cracking scarey bit in it involving a well

i don't think the video bit in the jap version is as bad as the us one... only saw about 5 mins of it tho...

the original japenese version is meant to be much better than american one. but i passed out early last night and missed it.

thought it was quite wierd, was a pretty scary film tho!
not for the fact that u got fright, cause that wasnt the case.
it was more what was goin on in ur head and what u were thiniking was goin to happen which made it worse i rekon.
the very first part put the shits up me a bit, mainly cause i didnt know what was goin to happen.

Watched the first hour, which was enough to remember what happened in the film, b4 falling asleep.

Even though the end of the ring is scary, the end of ring is even more so as the girl looks well disturbing.

Def putting the video in for ring 2 2nite

we all stayed up to watch this last nite, one weird ass film!....the lads wudnt let it rest tho, running about our halls with a towel on their heads pointing at stuff!! xx

For all you die hard Ring fans. There was a Korean version made in 1999. It was also titled Ring, but to avoid confusion was renamed Ring Virus (the original Japenese one was known as Ringu - but renamed Ring when released in the West). All very confusing. Never seen Ring Virus, but of all the versions, it follows the book by Koji Suzuki (a great read) much more closely. However it apparantly fails to deliver the spine-tingling chills of 'Ringu'. It is much closer to Ringu than the American remake, with only some slight differences (such as the reporter's child being a girl instead of a boy). Can't make my mind up whether its worth seeing.

No, that was the Japanese version. I dunno if the Korean version has been released in the UK. You can get it from the best Asian film importer hkflix.com on import (known as Ring Virus), but I wouldn't bother. From everything I've read so far it's supposed to be pap.
