Heard the Jews in America are up in arms about this... got support from many Christian establishments tho...

Not sure really... if it sticks to the story 100% and trys to avoid being sentimental and/or tacky mush then it will be relevant.

If thats how it is then there should be no problem with it

Other religions are gonna kick up a stink because of the potential threat to them... its supposed to be very graphic and moving and this may affect a lot of viewers deeply enough to rethink their religiious stance...

Afterall 'the exorcist' was a deeply thought provoking film with a religious plot that ended up converting vast amounts of people to christianity... despite censorship and the catholic church protesting.

They protested as it was a graphic horror movie using christianity... this was before it came out. When it was released it was apparently one of the biggest events to lead to mass christian conversions... think america the arab nations were the ones that were effected most...

Just curious... how does it stray from the bible... if it does is that not a blasphemy? I know there are many different gospels but if the movie decides to rewrite the bible then that is a disgrace... it will mislead people... whether you have christian leanings is irrelevant.

The bits that the jews are deeming anti-semitic are many of the touches mel gibson has added and were never part of the bible... Mel bases the film on the bible but often fabricates and elaborates on this as well as basing a lot fo the script on the preachings of a 19th centuary visionary :D

I'll reserve my judgement till I see it though - as like you I haven't :D

How many versions of the bible are there? and How many versions of christianity are there? Why have jewish groups taken offence at Mel Gibson's version of a story?
