The Differences between NCL & LEEDS

    The Differences between NCL & LEEDS

    The shooting of the Police Officer in Bradford was a shocking incident but I couldn't help feeling that I just cant imagine it happening in Newcastle, I am not saying it cant but I would be amazed if anything like that happened up here. Newcastle and Bradford/Leeds are so so close to each other in city terms but they are so different in terms of violent crime and general disorder. Armed crime is common in Leeds these days where as up here its few and far between.

    What are peoples thoughts on why two cities so close together have such different crimes rates esp. violent gun crime.

    Well it was only 10-15 years ago that everyone decided that it was riot season and various parts of the town were set upon by their own people.

    What with our obsession with gangster esque violence and handguns these days - I think its only a matter of time before someone decides they are a bit hard, and shoot the place up a bit.

    With alot of things, violence and drugs have slowly migrated to the north east and beyond.
