sorry but i feel the need to brag that im onto my 9th day without cigarettes!!

its far from easy, especially with the amount ive been out lately, gets very tempting when pissed

is anyone else trying to give up? or has anyone recently stopped? just wanting some advice or patches / gum / etc as i still got huge cravings, do they help?

patches are meant to be the boys....

ive managed to cut mine down to no smoking during the week, only on a weekend when i have a drink, thats the next step!!

my bosses wife does hypontherapy... thats what i fancy going for when i'm ready to quit*

I gave up for five months last year with Zyban. It's been 12 months since I took em so I'm going to try and get some more... :crazy: :bonkers: :crazy:

try to quit on wedensday night and lasted till thursday night

thing is i really wanna quit so im going to try with the patches

I quit when i got a throat infection so by the time that cleared up i had passed the craving stage! Luckily didnt crave when i was ill either

Still get tempted when i have a drink & have had 2 or 3 in the last month whilst out but would never start properly again.

one of the worst things for me so far is me throat, i think its the rubbish comin away from me chest, horrible though cos u just cough n cough n cant stop!!

My mam paid £200 to be hypnotised nd it didn't work!!

I've tried nd tried but just find it too hard once i've had any sort of narcotic or drink!!! Last time i managed 5 days!

i wouldn't dream of having one when sober, after a few pints though i enjoy a smoke.

as soon as they ban smoking in pubs etc i doubt i'll ever smoke again.

smokin's shit - it wud be awful to be addicted to anythin i rekon - takes over your life to a certain degree cos the next fag is contantly on the mind - wudn't mind if it did something but it's nothin more than a cravin

I've been like that for ages, just can't help myself when I get bored at afterparties

feeling lot better , tis all about will power the patches and that dont work its all in ya mind you gotta wanna quit other wise theres no point as if ya dont wanna your will power willl be weak but if you wanna quit then your more determind too. tis easy if you have the will power

You quit for about 6 months, then one night your will power went out & got absolutely battered & was never to be seen again...!

I stopped smoking for 4 years, but i started again a few weeks ago. Im gona pack in again in the new year

I've just decided to quit 2day, had a really bad cough lately! Its worked for 6 hrs so far, i really want 1 at the minute. x x

Dont have one!! the 1st day is definitely the hardest. Your probably cant think of anything else at the moment like. It takes a few months or so for the cravings to disappear, after which you'l be so determined that you will resent ciggarette smoke, and you will be the classic ex-smoker lol.

I'm trying not to give in... its the worst thing when you see someone you really like and they smoke, puts you off straight away. Every b/f i've had hasn't smoked x x
