Promise... Promise @ The Cube in Spennymoore... The music was as good as anyone could ever wish for it to be ! Richard Tulip simply has to be one of the best DJ's on the country in my opinion The Thrillseekers The club was fairly empty though, in future hopefully there will be enough interest for a bus full of people to come down Well played Spence and MoS for makin the journey
Re: Promise... They played one of the best trance sets i have heard, at Promise in about April i think it was.
Re: Re: Promise... It was the birthday wasnt it ? The Thrillseekers were on top form last night like, defo need to see them back in Foundation sometime soon Dido - Sand in my shoe <-- Cant believe just how good this sounds on a loud system
Chris, grab the Thrillseekers Exposure set out of my soulseek folder mate, its class. The Cern vs Dogzilla one is amazing too!
Thrillseekers - Promise @ Cube, Spennymoor Last minute desicion was made to visit, so i drove there... Spence and his directions were spot on. It's bang on Spennymoor high street - u can't miss it. We started in the Cube Bar underneath (with a 2am late licence), reasonabily priced drinks but full of what looked like taxi drivers (complete with burt reynolds tashs) and their 'molls' - Music was best decribed as 'everything' - from Abba to Frank Zappa. Anyways, got our hands stamped, paid our £4.... yes £4 entrance fee and we wandered upstairs. It's a fairly big and modern type club, nicely decorated with a 2nd VIP bar (that i think u had to pay to get in) but the dance floor was big and loads of room... Richard was on doing his warm up, a bit harder than his usual proggy Foundation sets - but it gave us that familiar feeling! It finally started to get busy about about 11:45 - just after Thrillseekers came on - once again they never fail to disapoint - even with the small unappreciative crowd. Such a good, uplifting driving set - as good as the one from the birthday - Sweet sorrow, Dido stood out in my britvic C fuelled memory. Lee Foster came on about 1:15ish and banged it out too - really enjoyed your set mate - gave up being a ligger behind the dj box so i could go have a dance! the crowd was constant, if nothing else most of the night - but it was such a good line up and such a good venue - it just seemed ashame the turnout didn't reflect the calibre of the night being put on - with Lee finishing with his 'athem' as spence called it "My melody" All in all - well worth a word trip! Cheap entry, cheap drinks and mixing with the Spenny crowd was worth it!!!!!! Although there was a 60 year old woman who looked like a cross between jimmy crankie and mo mowlem having it on the dance floor for a few hours that could of scared people away... and some of the chavs in their polo shirts did remind me of 'the pig'! Rich, Lee & Thrills - top night! i think we're going to go again... maybe a bigger road trip... keep watching for details! i've never drank so much cola and britvic in my life... i was desperate for a treble vodka!
