One Night In Sunderland

This is a long one but bear with me:

While reading one of my many magazines the other day I came across this story told by a woman called Marie Dakers, 34 from Lambton, Tyne and Wear.

Her son Martin, 17, unfortunately died after taking ecstasy at a club in Sunderland....of course she was mortified that someone had forced her son to take the tablets, knowing martin wasn't stupid enough to take the tablets of his own accord.

Marie decided to take action against the drug dealer and go undercover to the club with her daughter, Kelly, 15 to get justice for her son.

Here is a a quote from her story:

Where is this place? Has anyone been to a club in Sunderland where the guy in reception sells you drugs as you pay your way in and people openly do heroin on the dance floor?

She says at the end of the story, “What enrages me is that the club is still operating . And across the country others just like it blatantly allow drug taking.”

If this place was really like that, how would it stay open?

I know she’s angry because her son died but no1 forced him to take them im sure.

So why to some people see clubs like this?

Do you really think people were doing drugs so openly?

Discuss? Cos i read it a few days ago and ive no1 to talk to bout it here in darlo.

There is no doubt whatsoever that this is "The New Monkey" in Pallion, what goes on in there is unbelievable and what is even more unbelievable is the police happily allow it to happen, they put poppers through the air vents on a Saturday night

All the scum boshing away with drugs in a club is better than them being on the streets.

The only reason you dont like it is cos its got no hoovers or horns in it!

Exactly why it is allowed to happen 200 people in there probably means alot less cars stolen that night etc etc, thus making the polices night alot easier.

You ain't wrong but I think the police are happy that they have loads of scallies in one place rather than roaming the streets. I live fairly close to the place and I've heard people selling stuff in the middle of the street in front of the bouncers. Nobody gives a fuck, even after the lad died.
