whats the story nowadays.......it' been 18 months since i got on a plane. last time they took my toothpaste and roll-on deoderant off me, ended up stinking after 14 hours. got the same journey to make next month so need to know if i should empty a tin of lynx onto myself before i set off. can you take those kind of items on now ??
U can take travel bottles of liquid up to 100ml each as long as they're all in plastic sealed see through bag! Take your own bag. They charge a quid for them !!
well i suggest washing before you travel, taking those tiny little toothpaste kit's and if worse comes to worst have a rave shower with baby wipes 100ml is a tiny amount of anything - i'm sure if you really wanted deoderant lynx do them little spray bottles still?
cheers folks and @ ket up arse......i'm off to Thailand and don't fancy a streth in the Bangkok Hilton, plus gear of any description and quantity is much easier to get where i'm going than it is here, koh tao is a awash with everything.
isnt it like properly more illegal tho? if you get caught you'll get your arms cut off and fed to the dogs?
it certainly is but the island is that small, the inhabitants have been there for many years and own most of the bars, restaurants and alike and have a huge influence on the economy from the ligit businesses. they are also "more" than friendly with the local plod, of which there are only 2 fulltime on the island. the kids who run all the non-ligit side of things pay them a large sum every month and its job done. thats not to say it couldn't change in a heartbeat which is the risk they take. it's my 9th visit and the plod are always in the bar we kick around and don't really bat an eyelid if it's kept under wraps. played at the full moon a couple of years ago which was horiffic and was amazed at how many people were openly buying stuff of the locals, the local then marched off to the plod, advised and 10 minutes later you saw the purchaser being dragged down the beach, generally to their hotel to get their cashcard and empty their accounts.
