    If Owen returns to England.

I can only see him going to Chelsea or Toon.

Re: If Owen returns to England.

Liverpool have first refusal if he becomes available and Benny said he'd love to have him back. I can't see him ever joining Newcastle tbh but we'll see... he's clearly a marked man in Spain so they'll try to hound him out. Macca stayed and did well so will Michael if given time, unfortunately he's in the wrong league for that though in he?

Speaking to my Liverpool based engineers there is talk that Owen will be rejoining Liverpool in January on loan & then re-signing for them in the summer. I can see Kenyon wanting Owen at Chelsea as Owen has a much bigger status than any current Chelsea player & Kenyon has worked with Owen in the past. As for him joining Newcastle I mentioned this at the weekend.

He WANTED a new challenge so why in hell would he rejoin Pool?

Chelsea need a fox in the box and have the cash.

Toon could do with another striker for when Al retires and could afford him.

Celtic where mentioned on the radio as well today.

yeah and the "new challenge" may/not work out :dunce: Ian Rush anyone?

Maybe Chelski will lump on him. Can only see pool as his other destination. Would very much doubt he'd arrive up here. I could be wrong though...

And does that mean anything at all? I could easily see it happening tbh. Wouldn't mind him at the Toon tbh. Bellamy + Owen up front!

Is it just me who thinks Michael Owen is very overrated and has been for about the last 4 or 5 years now?

If he hadnt scored THAT goal againgst Argentina I doubt he would have half the status he has today.

    Just my 2p worth.

Know what you mean fella but i cant honestly see him going back to Liverpool, would be a great signing if he came to the toon reckon its a pretty good possibility as well.

No. His goals have won Liverpool cups. If you takeaway Shearer I would imagine he has scored more Premiership goals in the last 4 to 5 years than any other British striker during that time.

    I'll get my coat.

Hes just never looked anything out of the ordinary to me lately just your average run of the mill goal poacher. He seems to have lost a few yards of pace and the ability to go round defenders, which were his two main attributes IMO.

    Bosh your talking the truth!!

    OWEN IS AN AVERAGE PLAYER!!

Huckerby is 10x more exciting to watch than owen.

Since when have u been a dedicated follower of Delia's delights ?!?!

Owens never the player he was and i dont think he will ever get the form he had a while back - the move was a good move for Liverpool and him with his contract situation and when he was at Liverpool before he signed he was shit, overrated isnt the word !

We shall see what happens, Newcastle have better strikers at the moment anyways and no one can deny that on current form :D

Newcastle have failed in a shock bid to land Real Madrid striker Michael Owen. (News of the World)
