DJS - when you record your sets onto mp3

I can't stress the importance of recording it at 192kbps.

It sounds so much better in the car (CD quality) and I can turn it up so much more without it sounding distorted, as opposed to 128kbps or lower.

You should never record to mp3 if your going to be burning to CD. Has to be wav. mp3 looses so much quality from the original recording, no matter what bitrate - hence an mp3 file being a tenth the size of wav.

if you record it into mp3 format at the highest bitrate the sound quality isnt that noticable from wav format

but at the end of the day you always use the best quality available and if you are making a cd you really should record it in wav format (44.1khz 16 bit)

you should only put a mic into mp3 if you are uploading to a site or senidng it over internet

The difference isn't noticeable for computer listening but if you play it on any kind of decent system with a little bit of volume, the quality difference is noticeable, even with the higher bitrate mp3's - sounds really flat.

    thats bollox mate

if you were in a club you wouldnt be able to tell the difference between a dj playing an mp3, a wav cd or a vinyl

if the mp3 was compressed using the best possible quality

    You've contradicted yourself.

First you said is wasn't that noticeable. Then you said it wouldn't be noticeable at all.

    Which is it?

For the majority, not noticeable at all.
For about 0.000000001% of the population, not THAT noticeable.

    ;)

    @ quick

fake.. got your mix spinning in the car at the mo - its the shit, apart from 2 tunes a few in from the start I think have the bass turned up too loud and it distorts, after that its fine though.

Good effort - do another/link me to some older ones? :funky:
