defence budget cuts whats everyones thoughts on this?? i personally think its a fucking joke. alot of my friends on surface ships could go, the only thing good to come from this whole thing, well for me personally is the fact there stalling on the trident decision and there building the new astute class subs to take over from t-boats which im on, my personal view is that is t-boats didnt fire TLAM they would be for the chop aswell, and is the V-boats up in scotland didnt fire trident they would go aswell. heres a segment i tool from bbc news he said the government would procure a fleet of hunter killer Astute class submarines, complete production of six Type 45 destroyers and and start a programme to develop "less expensive, more flexible, modern frigates". Mr Cameron also vowed to push ahead with replacing Britain's Trident nuclear missile system but said their replacement would be scaled back, with the number of warheads per boat cut from 48 to 40, as part of a £750m package of savings. the only other thing that bothers me is as it says there, to develop less expensive more flexible modern frigates. you just cant do that, they have been trying to do that like for ever.
I work (indirectly) for the MOD so this might affect me also. Sometimes i do wonder where the value is in spending a hundred billion quid on a nuclear deterrant when we are arm in arm with the likes of NATO, the UN and the USA particularly ..... yet its the troops and employment of actual people that gets cut.

I would cut the International Development's budget which will rise to £11.5bn over the next four years to zero & work on high speed rail links and superfast broadband and roads and decent services in the UK.
Crime will go up and sentences for criminals will get even shorter meaning more scumbags will be free to commit even more crime or am I completely wrong and cutting policing budgets wont make any difference?
