Cherie Blair uses EBAY. Now Cherie Blair has returned to eBay, the internet auction site, to buy a pair of shoes more befitting the Prime Minister's wife. Ebay bargain: Cheri's shoes Mrs Blair outbid five rivals last week to scoop up her latest footwear bargain from the website, a pair of bright red stilettos. She paid £10. They are described as "gorgeous, retro, vintage, disco diva, Eighties bright red shoes". The advert might have added that the crimson shoes, which are by Roland Cartier and in size 6.5, with three inch heels, would be perfect for Labour Party conferences. Mrs Blair struck a chord with women shoppers when it emerged last week that she had been using the site regularly and had bought a 99p Winnie the Pooh alarm clock for her youngest son Leo, and two Disney videos at £1.99 each. She also snapped up a pair of size six second-hand sandals, described as "great for summer, weddings or evenings out". On that occasion she put her bids in moments after returning to Downing Street from France, where she and the Prime Minister had been attending D-Day commemorations. In her latest internet outing, Mrs Blair, who earns an estimated £250,000 a year as a barrister, raised her bid three times to net the designer shoes, which would retail at nearer £100. The seller reports to the site that Mrs Blair is a "great bidder". According to eBay records displayed on the site, Mrs Blair, 49, has bought three pairs of shoes in the past week under the name "cherie boo". Those she has dealt with describe her as "very welcome back" and "a pleasure to do business with". In addition to the red and pink pairs, she bid successfully for a pair that didn't even carry a photograph to show what they looked like from a retailer intriguingly called "missblingfootwear", and offering "designer catwalk queen boots and shoes". Many of its items are high heeled boots. Mrs Blair has yet to use the site to sell items of her own wardrobe however. The seller of the alarm clock, Jennie Loveday, a cleaner, was shocked when Mrs Blair's name came up on subsequent emails to arrange delivery. "I emailed straight back and she replied: 'Yes Jennie, I am Cherie Blair and the clock is for Leo'."
