Babayaro coming to newcastle for a medical wonder if its a replacement for bernard? anyone think babayaro would be a good signing?
Think he's a good signing. I like bernard but don't think he's anything special (especially not worth 30 grand a week) Babayaro's better than every defender we've got. Think we should be looking at replacing the others in our back four first though!
Apparently he was spotted at SJP yesterday where he had a medical and also at the airport last night going back down to london, could also figure against Birmingham on new years day according to the Chronicle.
Can see bernard leaving before the end of jan to be honest, no point in letting him go for nowt in the summer if he wants to leave ship him out asap and get some cash for him.
Not meaning to take the piss.....well actually i am. But it really comes to something when your signing Babayaro and hes gonna be your best defender....
He is 100% Toon, its a done deal. This is the best mag signing since Hamman. Wicked player and faithful!
Word is, he will be in Sea as a fully signed up member of the "Barrack Road Bling Brigade" by early Jan.
Rabble rouser Celestine Babayaro is known to have enjoyed the odd night out in London, and has (allegedly) been involved in an org y with Dwight Yorke. Then again, who hasn't Source
Remember when he "missing" "Nigerian star Celestine Babayaro, who went missing after the African Cup of Nations, has returned to Britain. Babayaro flew back to the UK on Tuesday night - nine days after Nigeria's penalty shoot-out defeat to Cameroon in the tournament final"
CELESTINE BABAYARO v EXPRESS NEWSPAPERS Statement in Open Court resolving the action between the international and premier league footballer against the Defendant, the publisher of the 'Daily Star' web site. Between July and October 1999, the Defendant published on its web-site an article headlined 'Babayaro Rape Case' which gave the impression that the Claimant was standing trial as a co-defendant on charges of rape and attempted rape. In fact, the Defendant was not tried for rape or attempted rape and was acquitted of the lesser offences with which he was charged. The Defendant claimed that it had intended to publish a fair and accurate report of the legal proceedings, but apologised for distress or embarrassment caused to the Claimant. It withdrew any inference that he had been tried for rape or attempted rape and paid damages and the Claimant's costs.
