Anyone into foreign movies? and not the blue ones Stuff like Oldboy, Ong Bak and cartoons like manga things and Final Fantasy?
Re: Anyone into foreign movies? manga films rock! - akira, fist of the north star, ninja scroll 1 +2, street fighter etc are all class
i've got ghost in the shell and akira on DVD... thats about as much as i like, fists of the north star was good
nice one - am skint at the min, so i was nearly crying when i walked into hmv in the metrocentre a few weeks a go and they had loads of manga going cheep on dvd for like £5
Used to watch manga when i was younger. Stuff that i liked was Street Fighter 2 the Movie (Chunlis perfect cartoon titties) Akira Patlabor 1 + 2 Appleseed Robotech Bubblegum Crisis Legend of the Overfiend (strange rape scenes lol) Dominion Tank Police all of which are pretty fun to watch Street fighter totally rocks. Seeing Vega get his face mashed up... "What!. My beautiful Face!... You Bitch!!... ILL MAKE U SUFFERRRRRR!!!"
What about movies? Ive got Hero, Kairo, Seven Swords, Night Watch & Day Watch - Night Watch 2 to watch sometime that all look very good.
Is night watch a russian film which is being realised as a trilogy?? I think it was in the cinema a couple of months ago??
Ghost in the shell is awesome. Currently watching a lot of far eastern cinema, not by choice though, although I am growing to like it, the horrors are much more psychological and scary.
City of God = My fave film of all time!!!! Y tu mama tambien is good also. seen em both at pretentious art-house type cinemas
