    3D TV

Being touted as the new big thing in TV. Ive watched films in 3D and been pretty unimpressed. Having to wear sunglasses to watch the TV sounds like a right pain in the arse. I dont get what the fuss is all about

The only film that has been shot in 3d is Avatar. The rest have just had 3d added in the studio. Things that are shot in 3d look much more impressive. Pesronally i can't be arsed with it, after a few hours it strains my eyes but i've saw football in 3d and it looks fantastic. I'd imagine a sport like golf will as well as you'll be able to see what the green actually looks like instead of it just looking flat. Shame i have no interest in golf.

Yep - the glasses hurt my eyes too and are pretty uncomfortable.

Cant see 3D TVs catching on until they manage to form the image without the need for the spectasticals

    Not true, look here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3-D_film

And tbh most of Avatar was CGI anyway.

A pub round my way (Monkseaton arms) has a big Samsung 3DTV. There's obviously very little 3D content at the minute, but the adverts in 3D that it's showing are UNREAL

There's one where a Rugby player does a drop-kick & it seems like the ball is gonna smack you right in the chops, proper flinch moment

The glasses that they had are the same shape as the type that McD's use to give away when i was a kid! Over 3k they paid for it apparently!!!

Im actually right, there's a difference between a film being in 3d and being shot completely in 3d. All the stuff such as my bloody valentine weren't shot in 3d. They had effects added after the film was finished.

If you want to quote Wikipedia why not read the link before posting....

"Another major criticism is that many of the movies in 21st century to date were not filmed in 3-D, but converted after filming. Filmmakers who have criticized this process include Michael Bay and James Cameron, the latter whose film Avatar (created in 3-D from the ground up) is largely credited with the revival of 3-D.[42]"

new films are sent to India and the little indians weave their magic and they come back with 3D ish scenes... waste of time id say, avatar was amazing tho but if i was buying a tv now i wouldnt worry about it. Net conn and plenty of inputs is what id look for. Id consider 3d if buying a projector tho

Yes I know the difference but if you look at the new Resident evil film was totally shot in 3d along with some more, what I was quoting was the the films shot using the same technique 3D I Max are the ones totally shot using 3D cameras.

Now please read your wiki quote, credited with the revival of, not the only one.
