24hr licence for pubs is the right idea!

this post was written by me...jam'e'tron...i didnt realise the computer was already logged in with ellielou's ID ! sorry guys !

I think the government and the police should let this go through, if nothing else i think the amount of fighting and general violence on the streets after kicking out time would half or even less than that.

before i found the beautiful world of clubbing, i was wot you would call a (BEER BOY) and my idea of a good night out, was a boozey trip to consett...... or newcastle if you wer lucky with the lads  wearing the normal uniform of a ben sherman ,jeans and shoes.

usually ending up in a cheesy niteclub listening 2 cheesy music, and sticking to the carpet, leaving the club at 2am and heading to the pizza shop, then the taxi rank.......where the usual fighting would occur ! :argue2: :samurai: :tut:

Obviously id never go back to that now....ive seen the light ! But in my experience all this fighting and violence happened when the pubs n clubs closed.kicking everybody out onto the street at the same time.

I think if punters came out in dribs and drabs instead of all at the same time........there'd be less fighting !

    Wot do u think ?

I agree with the point about the fighting..........but wouldnt people just use the bars and clubs at the same times they do now? Peeps are usually at work the the day, have always traditionally gone out on the drink at night, and most beerboys are ready for home by 2am anyway???

no real opinion on the matter, i think everyone is blowing the whole thing out of proportion ! !

8 out of 10 people will have given up and gone home by about 4 - 5 in the morn, the government just wants more cash off the pubs !

im not so sure its a good idea to be honest...

drunks wandering around in groups at random times of the day, possible causing trouble with innocent sober folk

clubs will be fucked due to the bars being open all night, killing off the whole 'night club' thing and nobody will want to pay to get in due to the bars being free entry

next there will be no smoking in all the '24 hour' bars leading to pissheads standing on the street looking like shit havin a cig

alot more to it than meets the eye if you ask me, i dont like the idea

i think on the first day its made possible in a bar like spoons or something we should go drinking for 24 hours - just to say we have done it. or tried at least.

awesome idea. cant see many places staying open that long tbh tho..
makes me laugh aswell, the governemnt is wanting to wage war on the pull-a-sickie culture, but at the same time this surely will increase ppl phoning in sick?

Im against it to be honest! think of all the bad things that come out of drinkin, Stabbings, Rape, fights etc etc, all these will happen more often i think!

also, for people who start work on a morning time, or takes their kids to school, when theres going to be people coming home pissed as fuck at that time, i wouldnt want my kids to see that tbf!!

Awefull idea!! its just going to encourage more crime!

I don't think it will make much difference to be honest. Hardly any bars will stay open past around 2am, and that will only be on weekends. There just aren't enough people who will want to drink that late to warrant anything else. Clubs will suffer though, as people will just drink in bars rather than paying to get into clubs.

Let's face it, if you really want to drink for 24 hours a day, you already can - just stock up at the shop in advance! I don't think having bars open 24 hours a day will mean we have hordes of pissheads on the street at all hours, no more than we do now anyway.

Also a lot more people would leave clubs in an ambulance, instead of wondering around the streets, because they'd been on a 48hour drinking binge.

Not necessarily! I would hope that bar staff would refuse to serve anyone before they got in enough of a state to need an ambulance.

Don't you ever refuse to serve people who are too trashed?
