Trance can work again - if people stop making it the be all and end all of a night out ..... for instance, that shindig mix on the mix board is the perfect bridge between a more softer house mix, with a bit of prog house or more melodic prog on a night out, you have the perfect recipe for 2 hours of either more 'peak house' music (Desyn Masiello Style) or ..... TRANCE (if you keep it understated so the glowstick and rockport crowd arent attracted)

I dont care what the fashionistas might say - Trance is still cool when its done right.

Psy Trance seems to cover a lot ... is it mainly harder style trance ?? I get confused, i always think of psy trance as chillout kind of stuff ????

haha what planet are you on? your invading someone else property to start with, inviting what will be loads of wreck heads, and without a doubt disturbing the peace with the sound levels

I don't know how it exactly is but I always think of it as trippy trance, or psychedelic :groovy:

    not at all -

basically an evolution of Goa Trance packed with synths and samples from anywhere and everywhere

    think Hallucinogen, Infected Mushroom etc

But you're right with the chilled nature of some of it - at Crystal in Leeds they play the more ambient Psy Trance (very dub influenced usually) in the chill out room- OTT was there last Friday, with harder Psy in the main room

you can laugh but psy trance is getting bigger, 2 or 3 producers got into the top100 this year for the first time, online record stores which didnt already stock psy trance now do, and trance djs already established are starting to play some psy. I like some but wouldn't play it as the basslines are too samey, but its definately getting bigger :)

when was the last time u really checked up on the trance scene? you go on about hating it so i doubt your in the position to comment on whats breaking through.
Yes its always been around but its always been underground this year like i've already said producers have made it into the top100, which means more people must be getting into it, meaning its getting bigger :)

I'd say it's for people who appreciate the music they listen to.

And in 2004 summer I'm sure Glastonbury dedicated a full day on the Glade stage to it. Following from that some of the same organisers branched off to produce the first ever, three-day-long Glade Festival. And I bet if you did some research you'd find that record sales in psy-trance are increasing

not tor mention infected mushroom got the highest new entry at 26, the top100 isn't the most respectable look on the best djs, but it definately show the popularity.

I really miss Vuzz!! I luved it there. I have never been massively into trance at all...and am more happier to see more Techno now than ever...but I definately miss Vuzz, I enjoyed seeing certain board members play and pretty much always had a good night. Little nights like that are the winners :wiggle:

As for Twisted logic Its always good when I go I just stuggle to in the week now sometimes. Always good though if only more people would head down but its a long way for only a couple of hours.

I really dont think you can get a good following of trance without attracting the dregs of society now. N to be honest im not sure you ever could, cos I havent been around too long myself

On the other hand I thoroughly enjoy digitals line-ups and love Hooked at the other rooms, things have moved on :wiggle: :)

I think it's the following that allows for a scene to continue. If you look at the likes of Tidy, Slinky in Bournmouth, Godskitchen, Wildchild, and Heat they're all putting on big, regular trance / hard trance nights with success. The promoters need to have forsight and keep the scene moving forward but there's no reason why trance cannot continue to prosper. The recent emergence of tech-trance and more progressive trance has moved away from the cyber-scene of a few years back but having been at crasher classics in nottingham last weekend the demand for peaktime trance is still there.

Plus there were plenty of glowsticks, attractive girls, and very little of the attitude at many trance nights these days!!
