i was bullied by lads for years & i handled it by hitting them fucking hard...

it served them right....they all thought i was a bit nipped in the head but having your head smacked off a brick wall isn't funny nor is having drawing pind stuck into your skin

i was bullied from about 11 when i went to secondary school till i left... thats what u get for being the fat kid who likes computers

Had my bike jumped on till the frame snapped once... constant verbal abuse daily, physical attacks weekly... was bladdered once when i was about 15/16... split a lads head open who was one of the bullies when an empty bottle of 'K's cider... remember that stuff? was real nice.

so was bashing the lads head in

something to be said for revenge......

i was only 9 / 10 for christ sake

Me and my mate martin ruled the school yard for at least two yrs!

When i started senior school i got the odd fat & ginger comment threw my way but once ppl realised it didn't bother me in the slightest it soon stopped!

I hate all this bullying bollocks in the papers lately. I don't think bullying is getting worse, it's just getting more coverage. When i was at school we used to have fights with compass points and pencil sharpener blades, but back then parents didn't go running round for compensation and looking to blame the school.

I had a few run ins with a few bullies at middle and high school for running my mouth with them..... my own fault really and as much as the times when i was getting grief were miserable - I can look back at them now and laugh my arse off for

    a) not pandering to popular opinion and doing what everyone else did/does and ending up being one of the same faces at the same bars you can expect to see 10 years after you left school with no stories to tell and nothing to say.

    b) taking my 'sad' interests and 10 years down the line earning a large salary with them and being able to afford a better lifestyle.

A few shallow examples - but Karma has a nice way of proving in the long run that bullies end up suffering later on ;)

God forbid the media bring awareness to a subject which has landed many children an early death  Bullying, whether its verbal, physical, happening to children or adults, in the playground, work or in the 'safety' of your own home should definitely be brought to the attention of the world. Being teased in a light manner is one thing, but bullying someone to death is a total other and should be put a stop to before another innocent persons life is ruined.

I have been bullied for a few things, i used to live with my grandparents for a while as my mam was having a v.v.difficult pregnancy with my younger sister n people used to take it upon themself to mock me cos of that as i was from a single parent family anyways.

I used to get picked on cos i didnt have a dad as such, the teachers even used to pick groups for school trips n say to my grandad who was a helper "U take them there the single parent family group"

There was other things as well, it's never nice and its deffo not good when the teachers are getting involved.

The worst thing was me Grandma/Grandad were both retired teachers n when they went up nowt happened, not from my Primary School anyways.

Once i got to High School nowt used to happen, i used to get told not to knock about with certain people but was just advice really as there were always in bother - i never used to get caught.

All the fucking arseholes/worky tickets are the ones loaded now with there own business's or trades n there's me working like a blue arsed fly to make ends meet

    Im a teacher!!

U all fail to forget who much other stuff we have to deal with at schools these days! When we do get invloved in cases comcerning bullies, we only have the best interests of the child at heart. It is (unformally) part of our role to support the child in everyway possible so they can work to theri fullest potential. Whether this be through work or through their social development in the playground.....So please dont diss us untill u've even seen the whole part of our job.

I understand Jon's case, and i think that on the whole the teacher was wrong to do that, but was trying to think of u in the long run, by placding u with kids in the same situation. I think its disgusting u were branded as a single parent child! Today this wouldnt really be the case because of how big a factor inclusion is in schools nationally-you would have been traeted as an equal and provided for appropriatly

Im sorry to hear that about u Jon:)

Yeah I used to...certainly not by people in my year group but me and Katie used to hang round with all the older boys and the girls in the year above us were stinking charvers so used to get jealous and start on us all the time...try to fight with us....write stuff about me on the toilet walls but we aren't like that at all so used to just ignore it! I think that probably annoyed them more....Now when we see them they totally lick our arses

    Crasher Chick -

    I wasnt dissing you :p

I have however come across many dickhead teachers, for example I know ones who were well known for throwing wooden stalls (science lab ones) at pupils  and wooden board erasers - I had one narrowly miss my head  One guy would pick kids up and put them on the ceiling  Loads of stuff and thats just from one school. On the whole teachers take loads of shit from kids, but well theyre all fully aware of what exactly theyre letting themselves in for going into that profession .... I would want to be a black belt in karate before venturing into teaching youths

Anyway back to bullying, as a teacher how would you handle a situation regarding bullying? Say a pupil has come to you for help, baring in mind that squealing often makes things worse rather than better :(

    Okies! :)

I would bring up the topic in citenship(sp)!!! It can work either way tho....Im about to become a primary school teacher so its really different once u reach secondary school.

During the first few days of term,it is vital that the children set rules togther with the teacher. More often than not they will bring up a rule about no bullying themselves. If a child breaks these rules, they have time taken off their 'golden time' where they get to do lots of fun stuff on a fri afternoon. That seems to do the trick as they hate the idea of everyone else having fun! :)

Oh fuck off you narrow minded shit. If you can only through insults instead of actually joining in the discussion like everyone else then get out of the thread.

Little uns are generally easier to bribe, in the sense that when you're young missing out on playtime seems like the end of the world. Whereas when you're older your response to that would be f*** off, followed by a few slamming of doors
