Unseasonal torrential downpours are predicted to sweep the country with the West and Midlands at particular risk of flooding. Meteorologist Paul Mott said: "There is certainly going to be some heavy rain over the next couple of days. "It looks like this will lead to some localised flooding. "The heaviest rain today is likely to be across south-west England, and then moving into Wales and the Midlands overnight. "The risk of flooding is almost anywhere across England and Wales."
