i hardly think people intentionally set out to die by getting run over, and i equally imagine you arent really going to be too fussed whos 'fault' it was if it was an accident...

Your own kitchen is about one of the most dangerous places in the world, statistically speaking, yet you aren't scared because you feel you have control over what is going on. The scary thing is that terrorist attacks can be totally arbitrary; there is absolutely nothing you can do against it.

Whether you can avoid being run over etc is irrelevant, it is the perception that you can avoid it that stops you worrying about it all the time.

It is something you learn to live with, unfortunately there are similarities to living in belfast in the 70's and 80's. At the end of the day you can't stop living, just in case something happens. Won't stop people worrying or feeling scared, but people are robust and harden themselves to such things.

I don't know if this is suitable....or even moral, but you can't fight a conventional War against these extreamists, so as happened here a la the UVF/UFF is it time to now terrorise the terrorists? Not saying that I would support such actions, but patroling the streets af Afganistan/Iraq in the conventional manner with troops only seems to be to be setting up the soldiers as targets.
