yeah i think bergkamp and Henry are good examples or the pressures of the italian game, Bergkamp was AWFUL at inter and look at him now, Good post Pike
Looks like we have been used as a pawn for him to move to one of the big 3..... If this is true Emre should be punished for taking an interview saying he had signed for us
Emre comes out to the Turkish press (no not in that way) and states he is a Newcastle player, he wants to play for us, he is over the moon at coming to such a prestigious club as Newcastle United and so on. Then his agent Ahmet Bulut comes out to the press and says no deal is done, we are still negotiations with four teams, Newcastle, Everton, made up team number one and made up team number two. I say made up team, because I have reason to doubt they actually exist because this is what I think is going on. Souness talks to Emre, who agrees to come for footballing reasons, (I have been following Emre for several seasons and he seems a good lad committed to his football) he then rings his agent and tells him to get the deal done. The agent panics and thinks to himself you said what to whom?? Are you mad I am your parasiteā¦er sorry I meant agent, and I do the deals around here, I will get you more. Agent then goes to the press and says no deal (imagine a shrug) how can there be a deal I have not been involved. I honestly harbour little doubt that Emre, will end off a Newcastle player, this is just a way to make sure he gets as much as possible, which is an agents job I suppose. So long as he does not expect too much. While it does seem clear that terms with Inter still have to be agreed, most sections of the Italian press believe this is a mere formality, we just need to sort things out with his friendly neighbourhood parasite and we will have ourselves a classy midfielder. And while I am more than willing to concede, Souness was not my choice of manager, Parker and Emre is a good start to the summer, and our midfield might well have some of the bite it has been missing of late.
