    flairing

went to a flairing competition at Beyond as one of my mates thinks he is tom cruise and i have to say it was amazing, had one of the fastest flairers in the world he was stunningly good

Inase anyone asks what a flairer is its where bar tenders juggle and show off when making cocktails

Have to say im feeling rough at work tho after getting in at 2am :(

I used to do a bit of flairing, was never really brilliant at it but could hold me own. Used to piss my housemates off though when I was practising by getting broken glass in the carpet

Until I stole some bounce mats from a bar I was reliefing anyways... :D

Flaring is cool. I worked in Cran Canaria a few summers ago and everyone was doing it. I tried but its dam hard! All i managed was to throw it up and catch it on the back of my hand
One of my mates from over there was trying to show off in front of two birds, got the pernod down slung it around for a bit then went to catch it behind his back, his throw went wayward, smashed against the wall, soaked about five or six people and broke the till!! Needless to say, he got the sack! :)

at the end of the day, the people you serve want there drinks as fast as possible, usually they've waited long enough for them, so why give them an extra few mins while you flair! No point at all IMO:down: If i see anyone at work doing it, i tell them off

I wouldn't say the mushroom bar would be the type of bar where you might expect flairing, it's not that sort of place.

I've hired barstaff that could flair and serve at the same time faster than normal bar staff, good flairing is about speed and not so much the fancy tricks. I used to use it to get bottles from the fridge or glasses from the shelves into my hands quicker and ready for serving, and for free-pouring spirits at break-neck speed.

Your staff just probably don't have the skills to pay the bills. :p

Unless you're bloody good at it, you just look like a sleazy wanker trying to impress the girls (assuming you're a bloke).
