I share the very same philosophy matey!

I do consider myself to be a good DJ, but I don't act like some people do and make out that im some kind of god (as some on here do!)

I've had a couple of good gigs, enjoyed it, and I play when asked, and thats how I like it!

On the actual topic though.....Luke Terry!

On the local scene, I would like to see Twisted Logic move up the ranks, cos they work hard and deffo deserve it. It also helps that the team is a good bunch of lads who arn't arrogant bell ends (apart from Allie maybe :p  ) like so many others on here who arn't half as good!!

I agree trance hasn't had any new big names for ages, it's becoming less popular out so theres no room for anymore big names.

I say disco bitch, Electro is gonna take off big time.

Trance has matured to the point where you have to be a producer to break into the scene in any decent manner.

Which is a good thing in my books - too many cookie cutter dj's out there caning the same old stuff.

Theres still alot of potential for all the genres beyond trance (and HH which is on its arse right now and doesnt seem like it will ever pick up again thank god) for DJ's who dont produce and can make a name for themselves picking and playing interesting sounding music. Unfortunately, trance tunes suffer from all wanting to be the next epic track that makes a chart crossover which is why we only ever get an occasional glimpse of a good trance tune once or twice a year when someone tries something a bit different.

Thats why i guess ive been straying more towards prog and housier stuff these days because you still tend to get alot of very strange experimental sounding productions and producers who arent as afraid of putting out tracks which dont fit a certain expectation of what they are supposed to sound like and be structured like....

    IMHO.

i wrote more or less the same in my post, think geordie was just saying not everyones djing to 'make it big'. i play out fairly regular but havent really got much interest in becoming a 'big' dj, im happy playing out locally and playing at parties to mates & stuff. think that was more or less the point of johns post mate!! :)

know im bound to say it cos he's ma boyfriend but i think michael or 'm-x' as hes otherwise known as lol is class, probs cos i get to hear him more than i do other dj's but he's a perfectionist and always picks class tunes and is class at mixing which i think entitled u to be a dead good dj!! IMO anyways!!
big daves dead good too or at least he has been whenever i've heard him play!!
also jambon n revel were class at the stagedoor a while back too!! :) xxx

    No.

Tim Monckton posts now and again though.

The other half (DJ Patten) is possibly the best scratch DJ in the North East.

Come and have a beer and check them out at Habit next week. Details below.

    :)
