It's insane. Dimebag is probably one of the most gifted guitarists of all time, and certainly the most gifted guitarists in regards to heavy metal. It is the equivalent to someone jumping up on stage and shooting Paul Van Dyke or Tiesto dead at point blank range in the head. Totally shocking

i am absolutely gutted, pantera were the best band ever, i know people loose their lives everyday its just a bit more shocking when its someome ive idolised for years

The more I think about it ,the more unreal it seems. This was my idle when I was younger. No one plays the guitar like Dimebag, he has been voted best guitarist by various magazines etc plenty of times. He was not allowed to enter guitar tournaments when he was younger as he was simply too good. He was a master of the guitar, a genius who has inspired so many. Pantera's influence is far reaching. Fucking Hostile is named after a Pantera song, inspired by Pantera, one of Glazby's favourite bands. The big speech about how “Heavy music was supposed to be dead and gone…” is vocalist Phil Anselmo. Dimebag will be sorely missed. Time to blast some Pantera!
