    waste of a venue!

    Hey everyone,

Was just wondering if anyone else thinks Ikon is a waste of a venue?

Every friday and saturday its full of charvers and beer boys....wearing shermans and as much gold as they possibly can!

Me n Ellielou went to Come Together in May at Ikon.....had a class time....thought why hav we never been here b4? Ans: because of the above !

Anyone else think it should be used for more dance events? :)

    Jam'e'lou n Ellie-tron !!!!

I think .. "stay well clear ... most dance promoters probably dont want to associate with Ikon because of the Charva following it has ... no disrespect to anyone who actually goes but it aint my cup of tea" ;)

I'll tell you the biggest waste of a venue

Tall Trees. It has so much fucking potential, largest club in the UK, an ace sound system, and they only ever fill the place when Retro's on. If they marketed it well and were willing to put on the big name DJ's in the spare Saturday once a month it'd be a quality place to go again.

Yeah, it's a waste, but as posted above, it is a self perpetuating phenomenon.

TT is not wasted on GG nights, incredible venue

It is not a wasted venue at all.

When Sundissential was at Ikon a few years back & IT WAS A WASTED VENUE. When TD4 used the venue for a big dance event IT WAS A WASTED VENUE.

Ikon on a Friday and Saturday keeps the wankers out of the better more musically gifted clubs. They're doing a good job I'd say. :)

If its making money and attracting people I would say its not a wasted venue. Not every club can cater for the same music. Even if people think the music is shite, it still has an audience and Ikon probably is providing that.

I think they should swap the nights which are on at Ikon and Foundation - THATS a winner.

I dont really see how its a wasted venue

Ive only been there once (for promise) and thought it was a canny good venue

However, just because people who regularly attend the place arent into the same types of music as us doesnt really mean its not worthwhile

Afterall, who is to say there shouldnt be places to cater for all varieties of music and audience, if everyone liked the same things the world would be a fairly shit place imo.

It's a total waste, could be such a great club but the reputation it has these days owing to their clientele leaves a lot to be desired.

Same as the boat has a reputation for t0ssers, puts a lot of people off going IMO (plus it really is a sh!t venue!!!)

Its a wasted venue in that they could put better nights on but if you think about how many times you've been to promise and its only half full, if it was in Ikon it would be even more empty. It's same as Kingdom in sheffield, its about 2000 capacity so the only way to fill it is to have commercial mass market events.
