compensation mad? is britain as a nation going the way of the USA & going compensation crazy...theres a girl in gosforth trying to sue for compensation for sore feet after deciding to not do the bronze or silver D.O.E. & went straight for the gold !
Re: compensation mad? I've never heard anything so rediculous! It's pathetic, theres plenty I could have sued for in the past and let it lie. Hope she gets done for wasting the courts time knacker
Re: Re: compensation mad? i reckon ppl who try to sue for compensation but lose should be made to clean public loo's for 12 mths outside of there normal working hours!
compo claims and the sharking companies that have built up around this industry to milk it dry are ruining our country. it's not 'free' money - it's blaming other for your own mistakes. this is the world we now live in - no-one takes responsibility for their actions anymore, it's always someone elses fault this is directed at bogus claims, whiplash injuries, etc.... the old "well, if everyone else gets £2K - why can't i" greed once again.
My cousins wife sued my cousins insurance successfully when they were in a car crash once for whiplash. She won aswell. Total wideboy
thats exactly how i see it like miller, if you're entitled to cash why not. I must admit however that i used to be a claims investigator for the accident group (the one that went bust lol) and we used to write up some dodgy claims. eg. person trips in pothole in street and maybe breaks their arm. now for a trip in the street claim, the pothole (or bit u tripped on) must be a certain size/depth, we measured this by a 50p piece. if the hole etc was deeper than a 50p piece we knew that it was a legitimate claim. i've seen claims where the pothole wasnt deep enuff so we'd say things like, "are u sure it wasn't that hole over there?" hey, we got comm and we had targets to hit!
if it was the states you'd be able to sue all the promoters that didnt give you time of day when you sent cds!! as far as the insurance costs go, i remember a part of the training that explained to us how the effect of the claims on premiums was minimal, and the majority of the policies hit were commercial. eg councils, employers etc. thinkin bout it now, dunno if that was just spiel like. however i do believe that if u are injured or harmed and the blame does lie elsewhere, then u should be entitled to compensation. personally speakin, i'd get as much as i could out of it. wouldnt you?
aye but the council have an obligation to keep the roads and paving slabs in good repair, thats what u pay council tax for. if they dont and some1 slips or trips and hurts themselves then they are entitled to compen from the council. possibly an easy scapegoat, then again like i say, it may have just been company blag. and as far as ya insurance co goes, worked for them aswell and most are a bunch of useless arses so keep on at them til u get ya docs thru mate, i'd be on the phone everyday.
