bollocks. ANY type of drug, be it alcohol, smoke, speed, coke - anything - it all effects your judgement and your ability to drive.

Having that attitude makes u a danger on the road.

I never said i've not done any of them then driven, be it straight away or the next day - but i know that 1) if i get stopped i'm fucked for life 2) i hit someone - it'll be on my conscience for ever.

But you still did it?? :spangled: ;) Ive never drove if I thought I wasnt upto it. Even if I had an accident and didnt hurt anyone, the debt I wud have been in would ruin me for years. I couldnt have afforded it.

i've NEVER knowingly, on purpose while spannered driven - i'm even careful the next day that i feel fine after a piss up - but i know if i get breathalysed i'll be still over the limit.

    I'm a good* boy

It was an educated opinion, i did it when i was 18/19 (young and daft) and certainly dont now as i have grown up a lot since then. :)

well...I saw a top gear (no pun intended) special once where they tested a guy who was driving around stoned - he did no better or worse than a regular driver....however, I think it's a personal thing....if that guy was on pills, or K, or speed etc then I think it would have been a different outcome too.

Personally I don't think drug driving is responsible at all and the same stigma should be attached to it as drink driving.

Driving home from sundissential = bad news
Driving around Newcastle on new years day after the boat, getting lost and getting stopped by the police = also bad news.

u feel different to when ur drunk though dont you...more co-ordinated and stuff. if anything i drive a lot slower when coming home from clubs...too scared to go fast!
I dont think u should drive home when ur leathered.....but i dont think having a cheeky half is as bad as having 10 pints then driving.

    Re: Driving On Drugs

drug use while it impairs your driving ability, often does not have the effect of drink - like slowing down your reactions, your co-ordination etc. its much more difficult to test for if you are caught, so these people who do may feel more 'safe' doing that.

also there has been much publicity surrounding drink driving, we forever hear stories of deaths, accidents, statistics on drink driving, yet i have only recently seen a bus advert about drug driving.

not really into the whole drink/drug driving thing tbh, me being allowed to drive is much more important than having to fork out for a taxi where i am more likely to be safe. i get paranoid too easy too so i reckon going in a car with someone who is spangled would not be the most sensible thing to do.

try scootercabs - now theres a good idea, im just not too sure how i would feel in the passenger seat of my own car with someone else in control??!!

I have never driven while drunk, but I did drive while under the influence of drugs the other week. Unfortunately and rather stupidly, the effects of said drugs were just kicking in while I was driving and I found it really hard to concentrate on waht I was doing. The next day everyone, including me waas like 'shit, that should not have happened.' I was ok driving home though, after letting myself come down off the drugs.
Driving to and from places is so much more convenient than having to wait around for trains etc but I guess you've gotta think, how yould you feel if you crashed and killed someone? Or if you did get acaught by the police?

I dunno whether I'd drive uncer the influence of drugs again.........

He wasnt disputing that they didnt effect your judgement he was just saying that drink is far worse than pills or coke, which it is.

    I'd say it's tripping.

A lot of people trip on the comedowns from pills and I've often saw cars that weren't there on the way home.

I've also heard of people tripping replacement roads in their vision where the real one should be.
