    Because he doesnt have to SEE every crime or be at every court LOOKING at what is happening

    He SPEAKS to people in the know like all previous Home Secretary's, he then LISTENS to what they say, then comes up with what should be a solution.

    He also gets all newspapers in brail (INCLUDING YOUR RAG THE SUN) & I would imagine he listens to the news on radio & TV

    i can see a blind man in a really powerful job who seems to be messing up a lot of things and apologising afterwards thinking he can get away with it.

    Asylum receipts have indeed fallen over the past 3 - 6 months, it's not a case of "they're not interviewing people".

    SEF interviews are not the basis of asylum receipt statistics, more a method of investigation/assessment into the individual merits of a claim prior to issuing Reasons for Refusal or granting Indefinate/Extended Leave to Remain.
