I made a fucking killing by putting on a St George's Day Party at my pub in Brum a coupla years back. It was good to see so many peeps out that were proud to be English. Even the plastic paddies were out having a good time. And I made shitloads of cash :)

Not as much as St Patricks Day unfortunately, but Birmingham is full of plastic paddies. :monkey:

Mine was the only pub in the whole of Aston to do anything for it. It is canny shocking when a Saint's Day of another country is celebrated here, yet our own Patron Saint's Day isn't.

One thing that is bringing St George's Day down is the stupid PC views that being proud to be english or british makes you an instant racist.

I'm proud to be a geordie so I think I'm gonna join the NF.

I was born in belfast and lived there my whole life until two years ago when i moved to newcastle... where i grew up we always celebrated paddy's day in a big way and always thought you's did the same over here.... was surprised that the goverment or whoever deals with it doesn't treat it as a bank holiday... but the moment paddy's day comes around even blair himself claims to be from donegal!!!! Everyone should always be proud where they come from and not deny thier roots.... our grandparents and thier grandparents before them fought in two world wars so that we can all be where we are today.... i'll be celebrating st.georges day the same way i celebrate paddy's day.... then again any excuse for a drink!!
