it has to be out of those 2 cos the rest are a bit shite...

i'm undecided but haven't heard the darkness one enough to comment really...

    Chrimbo prediction:

    1. Pop Idols - Merry Xmas (War Is Over)
    2. The Darkness - Christmas Time (Don't Let The Bells End)
    3. Gary Jules - Mad World
    4. Avid Merrion - Proper Chrimbo
    5. Blue/ Wonder/ Stone - Signed, Sealed, Delivered

Think the idols nigh on have it, though any of the other 4 could freak it and take the no. 1, it's gonna be a very close race this year as each have different things working in their favour

    idols- very broad coverage!

darkness - rockers will see this as their only hope for a rock no. 1 + it's released across 3 formats (inc a shaped 7" picture disc!)

gary jules - could be the big shocker, lots of airplay and getting the most vocal support from DJ's on radio (Donny Darko hype has built for ages)

avid merrion - this year's big novelty alla chocolate salty balls, c how long it is before you're sick of everyone sreaming chamone mutha fucka

Blue - the power of the boy band + classic Motown cover + classic Motown artist, will either go no.2 or 5

    rank outsiders:

Ozzy & Kelly Osbourne - Changes
Noddy - Make Way For Noddy
    Cliff - Santa's List
Will Young - Leave Right Now
Atomic Kitten - Ladies Night (not a fucking chance, pram faces)

The Darkness song is mint! Going back to the cheesy but class 70's christmas songs from bands like slade and wizzard.

Tho hope Mad World gets to no. 1. HAve loved that ever since i heard it on Donnie Darko
