i read it in night & day (for some reason)... it actually showed two indian people who were involved. I can't remember details, but according to the article some companies have implemented this scheme already. Of course it could be tripe, but ya never know...

Its getting really bad now, I rang up to reset my passwords at work the other day and got through to India, it used to be in a small office just down the corridor, took me about 40 minutes to do a 5 minute job.

    Speech...

I must admit, all the calls I've made to Indian call centres have been longer and quite exhausting.

When I was asked for my name, and said 'Mr Lee Foster', he was immediately confused.

I had to spell everything out. When I said 'lima echo echo' to spell Lee, which I had said 4 times, it blew this call centre workers fuse. I was called back by what I can only assume was an English representative in India. That call took 5 mins; the previous call was over 20 mins.

at least if the call centres abroad then they're less likely to be threatened...i was told a story today bout a lass who worked at orange...this customer was pissed off with the company & she got the brunt of it when he sent flowers tot he call centre where she worked & when she picked them up he waited for her to finish work & then beat her up!

I couldn't be bothered to read all that but if this point hasn't been made already then:

India is actually the second fastest growing economy in the world and is expected to be the next superpower! Growth is around 7% per year.

Brits rely on call centre work too much in my opinion. It's been great over the last decade and has helped our economy massively. But surely people should be a bit more ambitious in life and strive for better jobs. A lot of the people (not all) who work in call centres have worked in about 3 or 4 and can't settle because they're not fit to be employed. On a more positive note, I was a temp in a call centre over the summer and worked with some of the best managers. Really exellent they were!

On a more funny (meant to be light hearted) note! I actually hope a lot of call centres go abroad so a lot of people lose their jobs and I can buy a cheap house!

Indeed, it will cause an outrage.

Thankfully i've not had much experience with foreign call centres...when I had to ring netgear once it took ages to explain what the problem was.

I think its a joke. Fair enough having call centres outsoruced, but if the people can't speak English and they are dealing with English customers then whats the point.

It's just profits that they care about.

Sadly not alot can be done about it like.

I can see people going reet off about this though!!

The problem lies with lazy british workers who wont get out of bed for less than £6 hour then pull 40 sick days a year

If you ran a company would you employ a hard working dedicated staff at £4/day OR a lazy charva who is always off for £5/hour

If you hate calling these foreign call centres then vote with your feet and move your business somewhere else
